The Role:

We are looking for our next Inside Sales Specialist to join our Commercial team in Geneva, Illinois. This role serves as a critical partner to the sales organization by managing complex customer accounts, coordinating end-to-end order execution, and providing analytical and operational support that enhances the customer experience.

The Inside Sales Specialist will collaborate closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless order management, customer onboarding, sample fulfillment, forecasting, and reporting. This position also plays an important role in identifying process improvements, supporting commercial initiatives, and delivering actionable insights that drive business growth.

This position is located in Geneva, IL.

Compensation:

The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $69,000 - $88,000 annually. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage complex customer accounts and oversee end-to-end order processing, including pricing, product availability, lead times, logistics, and order fulfillment.

  • Coordinate product sample requests and customer onboarding activities to ensure a positive customer experience and timely execution.

  • Resolve moderately complex customer issues related to orders, inventory shortages, delivery delays, pricing, and product quality by partnering with internal stakeholders.

  • Proactively monitor order status, inventory levels, and backorders while communicating potential supply constraints and recommending solutions.

  • Support Account Managers by identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities and preparing customer quotes, proposals, pricing analyses, and commercial documentation.

  • Conduct targeted customer outreach to support new business development initiatives and strengthen customer relationships using CRM tools.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain teams to support demand forecasting, analyze order trends, and identify potential business risks or opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, KPIs, and sales metrics that provide actionable insights to sales leadership.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to business processes, SAP utilization, and reporting capabilities.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and other teams to ensure exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

What You'll Need:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in inside sales, sales support, customer service, order management, or a related commercial support role.

  • Experience managing customer accounts and complex order processes in a business-to-business (B2B) environment preferred.

  • Experience working within SAP or a comparable ERP system.

  • Experience supporting forecasting, reporting, pricing, or sales analytics is preferred.

Work Environment

  • This is a hybrid position based in Geneva, Illinois, with a combination of in-office and remote work.

  • Travel is required as needed

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. Days and flexible hours of work may be required to support business needs.
