Coral Gardeners is a mission-driven organisation founded in 2017 by young surfers and freedivers from Mo'orea. Witnessing the degradation of their home reef, they united to make a difference. Today, we are an international collective committed to revolutionising ocean conservation and saving coral reefs.

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is a key member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the CEO. He/she is responsible for supporting the organization's new growth strategy by building a stronger, more diversified, and more resilient revenue model.
The CRO's primary mission is to lead and scale Coral Gardeners' owned revenue engine across digital, adoption, e-commerce, merchandising, and experience-led offers. This role is critical to strengthening the organization's long-term financial autonomy, commercial performance, and global impact.
For the time being, philanthropy and strategic partnerships remain under the CEO's leadership. The CRO may provide selective support on these topics when relevant to growth execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strategic revenue leadership

  • Define revenue priorities, business plans, and performance targets across owned revenue streams.
  • Set, monitor, and adjust revenue objectives in close collaboration with the CEO and CFO.
  • Build strong planning, forecasting, and reporting processes to improve visibility, accountability, and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with Finance to strengthen margin control, pricing discipline, and overall financial sustainability.
  • Anticipate financial impacts linked to launches, delays, commercial risks, and execution challenges.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, innovation, and results.

2. Digital growth and offer development

  • Lead the development and commercialization of new digital revenue opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and audience.
  • Oversee the successful launch of new offers, ensuring strong coordination across product, marketing, operations, and customer experience.
  • Drive performance across the full customer journey, from acquisition and conversion to repeat engagement and retention.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and continuously optimize the key levers of growth, monetization, and customer lifetime value.
  • Ensure the organization develops strong capabilities in CRM, revenue analytics, funnel tracking, and performance management.

3. Adoptions, E-commerce and Merchandising

  • Lead the growth and optimization of the coral adoption program across both B2B and B2C segments.
  • Oversee e-commerce and merchandising performance, ensuring strong alignment between product offer, brand, user experience, and commercial results.
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion, average order value, repeat purchase, and customer loyalty across all commerce channels.
  • Support the development of new products and commercial offers, from concept to launch and scale.

4. Experience-led revenue streams

  • Define and oversee the strategy for premium experience-led revenue streams, including offer design, customer journey, business model, and execution quality.
  • Ensure experiences are commercially strong, operationally excellent, and fully aligned with the organization's mission and brand standards.
  • Develop or supervise collaborations with hospitality, travel, and institutional partners when relevant to growth and execution.
  • Drive a best-in-class customer experience, with strong attention to quality, satisfaction, profitability, and replicability.

5. Executive contribution and external representation

  • Actively contribute to strategic discussions and decision-making as a member of the Executive Team.
  • Help expand the organization's international network and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Support the CEO on selected strategic opportunities when relevant to revenue acceleration.
  • Represent the organization with key external stakeholders when needed, embodying its mission, ambition, and values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience in senior revenue, growth, digital commerce, or commercial leadership roles.
  • Strong track record of building and scaling revenue streams, ideally across e-commerce, digital offers, consumer products, or hybrid business models.
  • Experience leading go-to-market execution, revenue planning, and cross-functional commercial initiatives.
  • Solid academic background in Business, Marketing, Strategy, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience in mission-driven, purpose-led, or fast-scaling organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Strong personal alignment with ocean conservation, sustainability, and innovation with impact.

SKILLS:

  • Strong strategic leadership and ability to align teams around ambitious growth objectives.
  • Proven entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build, structure, and execute in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent commercial judgment and strong financial acumen.

  • Highly organized, hands-on, and results-driven.
  • Strong product and customer orientation, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, founder-led environment.
