LEAD ARCHITECT ENGINEERING TOOLCHAIN
Business Environment

We are hiring a Principal Architect to join our Architecture team for the Engineering Toolchain.

What do we do?
- At the heart of Amadeus' transition to the cloud, our ambition is to deliver and operate the next-generation Engineering Toolchain Platform that supports Amadeus Software Engineers at every step of their DEVOPS journey.
- We integrate market solutions and build our own for Source Code Management, Continuous Integration, Asset Management, Release Orchestration and Deployment, Continuous Integration (build systems, static code analysis, security scanners, dependency management and more), Source code Editors with AI chats/agents, Testing injection and mocking solutions for Cloud Native Applications, Development Environment in the Cloud, and more.
- We deploy and operate our solutions in a multi-cloud, multi-region context, at the scale of Amadeus, where architecture and physical constraints are continuously tested.
- Our platform is built with care by ~15 agile teams, ~150 engineers across France and India. IT supports a user base of ~10K Software Engineers, manages more than 70K source code repositories, 1.5 billion lines of code, runs ~50K CI jobs a day, serves 40 million artifacts and deploys 10K changes a day.

Concretely, what will you do?
- Platform High-Level Design : You will BE a key contributor to the Engineering Toolchain Platform High-Level Design, which structures the toolchain architecture and its evolution.
- Gap Analysis and Solution Design : You collaborate with Product Managers and R&D teams to analyze needs and define solutions aligned with Amadeus R&D requirements.
- Non-Functional Backlog Definition : You will define non-functional requirements and influence the team's backlog for their agile cycles.
- Cross-Team Problem Solving : You will support R&D teams in addressing complex challenges that span across the toolchain.
- Knowledge Sharing : You will share your expertise with team members through technical walkthroughs and collaborative learning.

What skills are we looking for?
- You have at least 10 years of experience in Software Development, DEVOPS, and Automation.
- You have experience guiding architectural initiatives and introducing new ideas.
- You've worked on applications with high-volume demands, such as (but not limited to) more than 10K transactions per second or data stores with more than 2TB of data.
- You have a solid understanding of Kubernetes and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem.
- You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences and enjoy working in multicultural and diverse environments.
- You are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- You collaborate effectively in diverse teams and value different perspectives.
