Within Airframer and Partner Support Entity of the Civil Engines Assembly Division, the Production and Quality Manager at GE Durham Assembly Line is the unique Safran Aircraft Engines focal point to support and troubleshoot, directly or in liaison with back-office in France, all issues encountered by GE Durham during the assembly and tests of CFM56-7B, LEAP, GE90/GE9X for all parts and modules under Safran Aircraft Engines responsibility.
The Production and Quality Manager at GE Durham Assembly Line works in close relationship with the Production and Quality representative at GE Durham Assembly Line (GE site dedicated to LEAP-1B assembly) and reports to the Manager in charge of the US area for
Airframer and Partner Support based in Seattle (at Boeing Factory and Delivery Center).
He/She is also in charge of supporting LEAP and CFM56 test activities at GE Peebles (Ohio).
Responsibilities
The main missions under the responsibility of the Production and Quality Manager at GE Durham Assembly consist in the following:
Assembly & Test technical support:
- Be the SAFRAN focal point for all issues related to assembly or engine acceptance tests
- Attend to meetings with assembly teams in France
- Write Work Orders for all activities to be performed by GE on Safran parts or modules
- Track all Work Orders performance
- Report on all assembly issues faced by GE on Safran parts or modules
- Contribute to sick bay meetings if needed
- Manage all major interventions performed on Safran parts or modules
- Follow configuration evolution and ensure part and modules are compatible with engine configuration
Quality :
- Gather and forward all completed Work Orders to Safran Villaroche assembly line for tracking and update of the Safran Aircraft Engines Quality system
- Write GE-Production Issue (GE-PI) forms for reporting of all quality issues faced by GE on Safran parts or modules
- Attend Quality meetings in relation with the activity (SAFRAN, GE, BOEING) and internal follow-up of GE-PI treatment
- Attest airworthiness of Safran Aircraft Engines parts, modules or engines by issuing an EASA Form 1
Production Management / Logistics :
- Track and report daily on Production status and progress on assembly and tests
- Manage safe stocks of Safran parts in Durham and Peebles
- Order replacement parts if needed
- Track all missing parts or modules
Improvement / Lean :
- Identify weak points and actively suggest and implement improvements on engine assembly and MRO activities
Le profil recherché
The candidate should have outstanding oral and written communication skills, excellent relationships and team spirit. He/she should be able to make synthetic presentations to all levels of the organization, and ready to react in a highly exposed and tense environment.
Leadership, reactivity and organization are key skills for this role.
