Détail du poste
Join an international group, a leader in low-carbon growth and committed to tackling climate change.
NUWARD, an EDF subsidiary, is dedicated to developing the Group's small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). NUWARD is designing a multi-energy platform capable of delivering low-carbon, competitive electricity and heat to meet the needs of industry and cities.
Our SMR, known as the NUWARD_SMR, features a simple, modular, and prefabricated design, drawing on the proven technologies and expertise of the existing nuclear fleet.
Our ambition: to deliver Europe's first SMR during the 2030s. Do you want to help build a safe, low-carbon, and competitive energy future for Europe? Join us on this journey!
Your responsibility will be to implement, in Basic Design phase onwards, in collaboration with the project teams for the building layout definition, the modularity and constructability methods necessary to achieve the program's objectives- namely, to ultimately reduce the on-site construction time for the Generic Product/Standard Plant Design.
You will be asked to:
Develop technical recommendations and requirements for modularity and constructability, and assist architects in incorporating them,
Carry out the activities outlined in the Modularity/Constructability Basic Design Schedule, and ensure the proper completion of other activities resulting from the implementation of constructability methods (Advanced Work Packaging (AWP)) and Modularity methods (Functional Grouping),
Challenge and proactively propose solutions regarding Modularity/Constructability aspects - on behalf of the island lead,
Define, in collaboration with the island's Technical and Project Control teams, the expected cost, schedule and risk savings resulting from the implementation of Modularity/Constructability solutions and recommendations to the Island Lead,
In support of the Constructability Lead, plan and organize the Site Plan reviews and constructability/modularity reviews in close collaboration with the island's resources,
Advise the islands regarding manufacturing, assembly and construction impacts, and coordinate reviews by the CMC team, the EPC Lead, and other stakeholders,
Collaborate with the integrated resources of Supply Chain Department of industrial partners (or others) to develop construction sequences and methods, verify industrial feasibility, including the logistical requirements of the generic site (lifting equipment, prefabrication workshops, site organization),
Assist the construction scheduler in developing the construction and commissioning schedule for the island, from the first pour of nuclear concrete to industrial commissioning, as well as site-specific activities prior to the first pour,
Report on the island's activities to the Head of Construction when they impact the activities of the Construction, Modularity, and constructability division.
Le profil recherché
📍Job based in Lyon with occasional trips to other NUWARD sites (Paris & Tours) and partner engineering firms.
You will report to the Head of Construction, Modularity and Constructability.
You will work in a collaborative team environment, operationally attached to one or more island managers (NI, NSSS, CI-BOP), and you will be responsible for integrating modularity and constructability levers in the islands to ensure the competitiveness of SMR series in terms of construction and commission schedules.
Your profile:
You have a degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience, or you have a demonstrable level of experience based on years of project experience (at least 15 years).
You have initial experience in design, manufacturing, or construction projects with a modular component in the nuclear or other industries.
You understand modularization processes (design, manufacturing, construction) and how to take constructability into account in design; you have design skills in systems and/or layout.
You are able to identify obstacles before a project is actually built, in order to reduce or avoid errors, delays, and cost overruns.
You are able to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
You have good communication skills, the ability to influence, and a good sense of confidentiality.
Knowledge of BIM methodology and/or the French nuclear industry is a plus.
