We are looking for our future intern in Network Security Benchmarking and Hardening (Firewalls, Cisco & HPE Aruba) based in Obernai for a duration of 6 months starting from February 26.

Your mission:

Reporting to the D&I Architect Network and Security Services, the whole team will rely on you to:

- Conduct CIS benchmarking and hardening activities on our network infrastructure (Firewalls, Cisco & HPE Aruba switches).
- Compare current device configurations against CIS benchmarks and identify deviations from best practices.
- Investigate the reasons behind non-compliant settings and assess potential risks.
- Develop possible mitigation measures for identified risks.
- Evaluate tools and processes to regularly compare the status of used network appliances with CIS benchmarks, including compliance notifications.
- Design templates for future deployments to ensure standardized configurations.

Your Profile:

Currently a student at Master's level in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Looking for an internship of 6 months.

- Proficient in English in a professional environment.
- Solid foundation in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, OSI model, IP addressing, subnetting, and common protocols (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN).
- Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving, using tools such as ping, traceroute, and netstat.
- Basic knowledge of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points) and ability to assist in configurations.
- Awareness of network security principles (firewalls, encryption, secure passwords) and common threats (phishing, malware, unauthorized access).
- Strong documentation and communication skills to clearly record configurations, troubleshooting steps, and collaborate effectively with the team.
- Demonstrates initiative, autonomy, and enjoys working in a team environment.
- Analytical and synthesis skills will be your best assets to succeed in this mission.
