Application Hosting is now looking for a Container Platform engineer to join our development team of the cloud's services for Volvo Group.

This will be us - your new colleagues within Infrastructure & Onsite Services

Infrastructure & Onsite Services is in charge of all Volvo Group D&IT infrastructure services. As the majority of these services are delivered by a partner, the mission is focused on governance, as well as managing the remaining IT infrastructure delivery teams in Volvo.

What you will do:

Application Infrastructure

Application Infrastructure is part of the Application Services department within IOS. The mission of Application Infrastructure is to Develop and Govern the Infrastructure Services for applications while ensuring their delivery and usage. By that, Application Infrastructure contributes to Volvo Group competitiveness by delivering standardized and fit for purpose infrastructure services, maintaining a balance between time to market, cost and quality.

The Application Infrastructure organization is divided into three functions/teams:

- Application Hosting - application hosting platforms and services for Mainframe, IBM, VMS, .NET and Java, cloud application hosting services
- Integration & BI - platforms and infrastructure services for integration, EDI (on premise & cloud) and Business Intelligence (on premise)
- Shared Cloud Infrastructure - the common cloud layer in order to be able to offer and expose services from Group D&IT appointed public cloud providers

This is how you can make an impact

You will be part of an agile team responsible for industrializing (architecture, implementation, automation), maintaining and improving the container's platforms from a technical standpoint accordingly to business needs. Working closely with architects, you will be working with the technical implementation of the different designs, while also keeping up with partner and vendor rapid changes.

Who are you ?

We believe you are an experienced container platform engineer with a strong skills in Kubernetes and public cloud services

- Solid expertise in orchestration & container technologies (OpenShift and AKS)
- Solid expertise in Azure
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking components (Hub&Spoke model, Firewall/WAF, Private Endpoints/Private Links...)
- Strong knowledge of major Azure services
- Ability to translate company directives to tangible technical requirements.
- Knowledge of source code management best practices & tools (Git/Azure DevOps)
- Experience with Agile development workflow and strong understanding of DevOps way of working and tools (Azure DevOps/GIT and automation (CI/CD)
- Strong scripting experience
- Experience and understanding of architectural patterns
- Knowledge of microservices and APIs-driven solutions
- Experience on backup solutions and running databases on Kubernetes is a plus
- Good communication skills
- Strong team spirit and ability to spread the knowledge within the team to help them to grow
- Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation
- Fluent in English.
