As a Senior Software Development Engineer within our Loyalty team, you will BE an integral part of the development of our next-generation loyalty platform. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including analysts, product managers, and developers, to design and implement solutions that meet the highest standards. You'll BE engaged in the full software development life cycle-from requirement analysis to the validation of deliveries-while constantly focusing on scalability, performance, and technical excellence.
Your day-to-day responsibilities :
- Loyalty Platform Development : Design and develop new features for the Amadeus Loyalty platform, including the points bank system (accrual and redemption), ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business needs.
- Technical Solution Design : Collaborate with product management to define and propose viable technical solutions, performing feasibility studies and validating technical designs with stakeholders.
- Database Modeling and Implementation : Model, design, and implement databases with a focus on performance optimization, ensuring the systems are capable of handling high-volume transactions.
- Unit and Performance Testing : Conduct rigorous testing, including unit, package, and performance tests, to ensure the software meets Amadeus' high-quality standards.
- Collaborative Development : Participate in the Agile development process, working closely with analysts and fellow developers to refine requirements and enhance functionality.
- Support and Maintenance : Provide support during the production phase, assisting with debugging existing software and responding to problem tracking records (PTR) and change requests (CR) issued from product management or product definition.
What we're seeking :
- Extensive Development Experience : Proven experience as a senior software developer, with a strong background in object-oriented languages (preferably Java or C++), in a Unix environment.
- Database Expertise : Experience with relational databases (Oracle preferred), No-SQL databases (such as Couchbase), or SQL over Hadoop distributed frameworks (such as Spark) will BE highly valued.
- Performance Optimization : Experience in performance optimization, whether software-related or database-related, will complement your profile.
- Agile and T-Shaped : You will thrive in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, Agile environment and contribute to the evolution of the platform, balancing long-term vision with immediate development tasks.
- Technical Proficiency : Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, Oracle databases, and Java 8 Spring frameworks. Familiarity with cloud environments, event meshes, and serverless architectures is a plus.
- English Fluency : As our business environment is primarily in English, you must BE fluent in both written and spoken English.
