HSE Supervisor H/F ABYSS ENERGY

CONTEXT
Supporting a leading French energy services company specializing in low-carbon energy infrastructure, including district heating networks, renewable energy systems, and energy efficiency solutions, Abyss Energy, engineering consulting & recruitment firm, is seeking an HSE Supervisor.

The position involves overseeing Health, Safety and Environmental compliance during site execution activities, with a strong focus on regulatory requirements, work permit control and safe work practices in challenging operational conditions. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main duties of the position include:

• Monitoring daily site activities to ensure compliance with HSE regulations, procedures and risk control measures.
• Supervising activities performed under work permit systems and prevention plans.
• Ensuring the safe execution of working at height operations and the proper use of fall protection equipment.
• Verifying compliance with requirements related to confined space entry activities.
• Participating in toolbox talks, safety briefings and coordination meetings.
• Conducting site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Identifying unsafe situations and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Supporting contractors and site teams in the application of HSE standards and best practices.
• Monitoring compliance with personal protective equipment requirements.
• Reporting HSE performance indicators, incidents, near misses and improvement opportunities.

PROFILE

• Min 10+ years of experience in HSE supervision on industrial construction, energy or CAPEX projects.
• Degree or technical qualification in HSE, Occupational Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of work permit systems, prevention plans and site safety management.
• Demonstrated experience supervising confined space and working at height activities.
• Good understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident prevention.
• Ability to interact effectively with contractors, supervisors and site management teams.
• Strong communication, observation and reporting skills.
• Proactive, autonomous and field-oriented approach.
• Professional level of French; English is considered an asset.
