We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader with a strong interest in financial processes and continuous improvement.
We offer an exciting opportunity in a flexible, team-oriented work environment, as part of an international professional network.

Would you like to become our Director of Internal Control and join the Volvo Group and the FCA (Financial Control & Accounting) team?

This is a permanent position based in Lyon-Saint-Priest available now.

Your mission :

As Director of Internal Control for South Europe, the Middle East and Africa (SEMEA), you will play a key role in leading and developing internal control across the region's eight countries, helping to strengthen and safeguard financial flows.

You will actively contribute to the harmonization and continuous improvement of processes in this area.

You will lead a team of internal controllers responsible for assessing, testing and reviewing internal control activities.

You are confident in making decisions and know when to seek alignment and support.

Within FCA SEMEA, you will be part of a global, diverse and passionate team that works with commitment and trust in a warm, open and positive atmosphere.

You will report to the Vice President of the FCA SEMEA region and be a member of the Volvo Group Internal Control team.

Your main responsibilities:

- Lead, manage and develop the SEMEA Internal Control team, taking into account the strategic objectives and priorities agreed with the relevant line and functional organisations.
- Contribute to the Group's internal control strategy by considering the needs of your area of responsibility and proposing appropriate solutions.
- Support businesses through changes and developments in their activities by providing pragmatic recommendations based on financial control assessments.
- Build close relationships with the finance community, including Chief Accountants, Business Controllers, Group Internal Control, auditors and statutory auditors. Facilitate forums that foster trust and collaboration.
- Advise stakeholders on designing activities that meet Volvo Group internal control standards and requirements.
- Lead the assessment of transaction-level controls in line with the annual scope, and liaise with Internal Control teams in the Shared Service Centres (SSCs).
- Work with your team to present the results of internal control testing to the countries.
- Actively improve the region's internal control environment, including through digitalisation.
- Act as an escalation point for initiatives, questions or concerns relating to internal control.

Your profile :

- You demonstrate natural leadership, supported by at least eight years of team management experience.
- You have experience working in an offshore Shared Service Centre environment.
- You have a holistic understanding of the business and its processes, and understand how they relate to the financial statements.
- You are an active and influential member of the internal control and finance communities.
- You are recognised for your strong communication skills, including in English. C1-level English , both spoken and written, is required.
- You are a collaborative team player.
- You are analytical, highly ethical and structured in your approach.
- You are solution-oriented.
- You have a positive attitude and are confident taking initiative.

What's in it for you?

We offer an attractive compensation and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to:

- Join a committed team where trust, active listening and people's well-being matter as much as the quality of internal control.
- Work in a collaborative, international environment, with regular interaction across Finance teams in the South EMEA region.
- Broaden your skills and network through cross-functional projects and development opportunities within the Group.
