YOUR ROLE
The Group Learning Director is a visible and legitimate leadership role, acting as a strategic sparring partner to the VP Group Learning to drive the Group Learning transformation.
The role ensures alignment, operational excellence, and a high-impact learner experience across the Group, with end-to-end responsibility over the following core pillars:
- Learning Operations
- LX Factory (Learner Experience & Innovation)
- Shipping Academy
- Group Functions Academy
- Logistics Academy (functional reporting)
The role incorporates a strong managerial dimension, with direct leadership over Learning Operations, LX Factory, and Academy teams (Shipping Academy, Group Functions Academy, Logistics Academy), representing more than 30 people, and ensuring performance, cohesion, and capability development across the entire Group Learning organization.
With a transversal and integrated vision, the Director oversees both back-office' teams and front-office teams, and acts as the single point of contact for the VP Group Learning on transversal Learning services, governance, and digital learning tools, centralizing academy needs to drive consistency, scalability, and continuous evolution.
The scope is designed to evolve with the Group Learning maturity and organizational needs and requires strong leadership to actively drive and accompany change across all learning stakeholders.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Team Leadership & People Management
- Provide strong leadership to Learning Operations, LX Factory, Shipping Academy, Group Functions Academy and Logistic Academy teams, representing more than 30 people
- Act as the single point of contact for the VP Group Learning on all Learning matters, ensuring clear accountability, structured reporting, and alignment on priorities
- Define a clear vision and drive capability building across both back-office and front-office learning teams
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the entire Group Learning organization
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and succession planning
- Strengthen engagement and synergies between central teams and Academies to maximize collective impact
- Act as a role model for Group leadership behaviors, promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and transparency.
- Lead and structure end-to-end Group Learning Operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and consistency across divisions and Academies
- Define and harmonize operating models, processes, standards, and service levels
- Drive alignment and adoption of Group Learning solutions through effective change management
- Foster cross-divisional collaboration and operational excellence
- Define and manage the Group Learning budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation
- Establish and pilot Group-level KPIs covering learning effectiveness, operational efficiency, learner experience, and Return on Learning (ROL)
- Monitor performance, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable improvements
- Provide structured reporting to the VP Group Learning and key stakeholders.
LX Factory (Learner Experience & Innovation)
- Ensure learning solutions are innovative, engaging, and digital-first
- Lead and inspire the LX Factory team, promoting creativity, innovation, and adopting cutting-edge learning practices
- Strengthen learning communication and engagement to deliver a seamless learner journe
- Define and deploy common pedagogical frameworks and learner experience standards.
Academies (Shipping Academy & Group Functions Academy)
- Provide direct managerial leadership to Shipping Academy & Group Functions Academy, ensuring alignment with Group Learning strategy and priorities
- Ensure strong coordination with the Logistics Academy (dotted line), in close collaboration with its leadership
- Steer an impactful Group Learning offer aligned with business and talent priorities
- Ensure consistency and coherence of training programs across all learner populations
- Ensure the delivery of key Group Learning programs (e.g. excellence programs, mandatory campaigns)
- Drive alignment and synergies between Shipping Academy, Group Functions Academy, and Logistics Academy to ensure consistency of standards, programs, and learner experience across the Group.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Master's / Bachelor's degree in Human resources, Organizational development, Education, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in learning and development, preferably in a complex, multi-divisional organization
- Proven track record in strategic learning design, budget management, and digital learning tool implementation
- Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and scaling Learning organizations
- Fluency in French and English languages for effective communication in a global environment
- Strong influency skills
