Quality & Process Control Technician H/F GROUPE SAINT-GOBAIN

Why do we need you?

We are seeking a Quality & Process Control Technician to support the QPC team in driving quality control and process improvement initiatives aligned with the FI & QPC Pillars and Step Zero of World Class Manufacturing (WCM). The role will be responsible for supporting the implementation of quality and process improvement activities while ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and site procedures

Key responsibilities:


Ensuring all critical process control points are defined and in control.
Application of root cause analysis and countermeasure management to ensure process in control.
Ensure all product specifications are up to date with latest process improvements.
Monitor and analyse process control and quality management system data daily, and report on trends.
Ensure that production and engineering teams comply with plant process control parameters and quality management standards.
WCM improvement projects.
ISO 9001 system adherence.
Ensure efficient service of the laboratory to production.
Calibration of quality equipment.
Training of laboratory analysts including chemical handling.
Continuous improvement of QC laboratory capabilities.
Record, verify and report on QC performance (laboratory and shift results).
Testing of all requested samples as per quality control plan.
Conducting tests by following SOPs and standard methods.
Maintain safe working practices and procedures.
Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory by following good housekeeping principles and 5S system.
Conduct housekeeping and 5S audits.
Stand in for lab analyst in their absence.
Investigate and report any deviation on results obtained.
Reporting of any problems or discrepancies to the process engineer.
Capturing analysis results.
Participate in HSE activities and ensure adherence to all safety requirements.
Assist with and manage plant trials where possible.
Stock control for all chemicals and equipment in the lab.
Manage the Quick Kaizen System.
Attend morning production meetings and lead quality meetings.
Perform additional functions or work in other areas as required by the process engineer.
Involvement in SGCP corporate social responsibility in respective of SGCPZ.
Involvement in social upliftment programmes in respective of SGCPZ.
Adhere to rigorous Corporate Governance in accordance with SGCP Group standard.
Adhere to risk management protocol in the plant.

Is this job for you?

Minimum requirements:


Diploma/Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Quality management qualification or willingness to obtain a quality management qualification
3-5 years' relevant working experience in a manufacturing, quality control, laboratory, or process improvement environment
Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001
Experience with quality control testing, laboratory practices, and calibration of testing equipment
Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective action processes
Exposure to World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement principles will be advantageous
Proficient in analysing process and quality data and identifying trends
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
ISO9001 auditor/implementer will be advantageous
Proficiency in MS Office
