Process Safety Engineer H/F Abylsen

Are you passionate about industrial safety and risk management? We are looking for a Process Safety Engineer to support major industrial projects across the energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, and advanced manufacturing sectors. In this role, you will help identify, assess, and mitigate process risks while ensuring facilities operate safely throughout their entire lifecycle.

Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will contribute to projects from early concept development through engineering, commissioning, start-up, and operations.

💻 Your day-to-day

• Conduct and facilitate Process Safety studies, including HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA, SIL/LOPA, and What-If analyses.
• Develop and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) documentation, risk registers, and engineering deliverables.
• Perform consequence modelling and risk assessments using industry-standard tools.
• Provide process safety input throughout all project phases, from conceptual design and FEED to detailed engineering and execution.
• Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Layout teams to integrate inherently safer design principles.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including Seveso, ATEX, PED, ISO, API, and NFPA requirements.
• Prepare documentation for permitting processes, audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
• Participate in incident investigations, root-cause analyses, commissioning activities, and operational readiness reviews.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on risk reduction and strengthening safety culture.
