Principal Mechanical Engineer m H/F fortil group

JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of the development of our activities in the canton of Vaud, we are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer (M/F).

Reporting to a technical manager, your main responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical studies based on technical specifications and provide engineering solutions.

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components from concept to validation.

• Produce 3D designs, verification documentation, and technical reports.

• Conduct mechanical design reviews and ensure compliance with development standards.

• Support system integration and qualification activities.

• Contribute to qualification campaigns and test execution.

• Define technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors.

• Act as the mechanical technical authority during development reviews.

• Ensure mechanical developments are delivered on time and meet quality requirements.

• Identify technical risks and implement mitigation actions.

• Monitor development standards and quality control processes.

• Evaluate, select, and manage external development partners and contractors.

• Provide technical guidance and expertise to multidisciplinary project teams.

YOUR PROFILE

You hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have strong experience in complex mechanical development environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical design and product development.

• Experience with industrialization processes.

• Experience designing qualification or validation test benches.

• Knowledge of thermal simulation methodologies.

• Knowledge of vibration analysis and simulation.

• Ability to lead technical reviews and coordinate multidisciplinary activities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work in an international and high-technology environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in highly regulated industries.

• Experience managing external engineering partners.

• Exposure to complex electromechanical systems.

• Experience supporting qualification and certification activities.

Languages

• Fluent English is mandatory.
