Welcome to the Team
At Nexans, our Legal function is a key enabler of the Group's transformation and growth strategy. You will join a high-performing, international Legal team at the heart of our M&A activity, working closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders across the Group.
This role is to support an increasingly active M&A pipeline, strengthening our capability to execute complex, cross-border transactions and deliver long-term value creation.
Getting a Flying Start
As Senior Legal Counsel M&A, you will play a central role in the execution of Nexans' global M&A transactions, acting as a trusted legal partner throughout the full deal lifecycle.
You will report functionally to the M&A EVP and work in close collaboration with the M&A team and key business leaders. The role is fully dedicated to M&A, offering high visibility, direct exposure to strategic projects, and the opportunity to operate in a fast-paced, international environment.
This position is ideal for someone looking to step into a more autonomous, business-facing role, with strong development opportunities within Nexans' global organisation.
How You Make an Impact
- Lead and manage the legal execution of M&A transactions end-to-end (acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures)
- Draft and negotiate key transaction documentation (LOIs, SPAs, shareholders' agreements, ancillary agreements)
- Contribute to deal structuring and risk assessment, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Act as a key legal partner to the M&A team and business stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
- Coordinate internal functions (Tax, Finance, HR, IT, Insurance) and manage external legal advisors.
- Support post-closing activities, including integration, price adjustments, and claims management.
Your Starting Points
- 8 -12 years' experience in M&A, with a balanced background in law firms and industrial/in-house environments within an international context
- Strong expertise in corporate law, transaction structuring, and contract negotiation
- Proven track record in leading complex cross-border transactions
- Solid business acumen with the ability to translate legal complexity into practical solutions
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level
- Fluent in English; French strongly preferred (additional languages are a plus)
