🧭 Why are we hiring?

At Taster, we're building the quick service dining industry of tomorrow. Our tech allows our kitchens to efficiently operate their business : manage out-of-stocks products, opening hours, holiday schedules, opening and closings of multiple digital brands, across multiple platforms (Uber, Deliveroo, etc.) from a single software interface.

From the HQ side, the management of menus, kitchen lifecycle, operational data, supply catalogs and integration to logistics platforms... And also, proprietary sale funnels : a custom Click & Collect, a Kiosk, and a Point of Sale app, all developed in-house and NF525 certified.

Our backend allows us to power all of this, on the Cloud using a mix of serverless and event-driven. We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our backend team and help us build robust, scalable, and performant systems. You'll design architectures, implement various features in collaboration with the product team, and participate in ongoing tech-intelligence to help keep the stack up to date.

🤝 What will you do?

As a Senior Backend Engineer, your responsibilities will be:
System Design & Engineering

• Design architectures, from the Software side (python) to the infrastructure side (GCP)

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

• Participate in technical discussions around tech intelligence, coding best practices

Product & Delivery

• Own complex features end-to-end, working closely with the Frontend and Product teams

• Collaborate with the HQ teams, that are your clients : Marketing, Operations, Sales, Supply...

• Ensure reliability and performance of our systems

AI & Innovation

• Integrate GenAI into your day-to-day work

• Keep a strong hands-on coding approach, and know when to challenge LLM-produced code

• Mentor the more junior members of team, and get to know our entire code base and features

  SQL (SQLAlchemy), Firestore (GCP clients), a duckDB POC
  Google Cloud Platform, mostly on serverless services (Cloud Run), along with Grafana, Sentry, Github
  Custom CICD and monitoring, Keycloak, Dependency Track, Sonarqube

✅ What are we looking for?

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in backend development, in Python

• Experience with a public Cloud Provider

• Knowledge of asynchronous design, SQL, NoSQL systems

• Familiarity with at least one monitoring and observability platform

• Comfortable in coding with LLM-assisted tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

Technical Skills

• Solid experience with GCP (or similar cloud platforms)

• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, and asynchronous systems

• Experience with monitoring, performance optimization, and system reliability

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures is a plus

AI & Modern Tooling

• Experience coding with LLM-assisted tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

• Interest in integrating AI into backend systems and workflows

• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity and system capabilities
