Process Safety Engineer H/F HOUSE OF ABY

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that industrial facilities operate safely throughout their lifecycle. Working closely with our clients in the energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and advanced manufacturing sectors, you will contribute to the identification, assessment, and mitigation of process risks. Your technical insights will support projects from early conceptual design to execution, commissioning, and operations.

This role combines technical depth with strong analytical skills and the ability to work seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams.

¿What would you be doing in your day a day?

Process Safety Studies & Methodology

- Conduct and facilitate formal safety assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA, SIL/LOPA, and WhatIf analyses.
- Develop and update Process Safety Management (PSM) documentation, including safety philosophies, risk registers, and engineering deliverables.
- Perform consequence modelling (dispersion, fire, explosion) and risk evaluations using industrystandard tools.

Design & Engineering Support

- Provide process safety requirements during all project phases, from conceptual and FEED to detailed engineering and execution.
- Ensure that design specifications, operating procedures, and equipment selections comply with applicable regulations, international standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, and layout teams to integrate inherently safer design principles.

Regulatory Compliance & Standards

- Support clients in compliance with regulatory frameworks (Seveso/COMAH, ATEX, PED, ISO, API, NFPA, etc.).
- Prepare documentation for permitting processes, audits, and inspections performed by regulatory authorities.

Operational Safety & Performance

- Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
- Support operational readiness, commissioning, and start-up safety activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focusing on risk reduction and safety culture enhancement.
