Your day-to-day responsibilities

- 3D plastic parts design: Model plastic components using CATIA, ensuring compliance with both functional and aesthetic vehicle requirements.
- Geometry optimization: Refine designs to improve manufacturability, strength, and weight, taking into account plastic injection processes.
- Material analysis: Select the most suitable plastic materials, considering thermal resistance, rigidity, durability, and production costs.
- Design validation: Perform CATIA simulations to verify part behavior under load, temperature, and other relevant conditions.
- Virtual prototyping: Create digital prototypes to test assembly and fit within the complete vehicle.
- Design for manufacturing (DFM): Ensure parts are easy to manufacture and assemble, optimizing production processes and reducing costs.
- Mold development: Collaborate on mold design for plastic injection, ensuring efficient part production.
- Tolerance and fit management: Define necessary tolerances to guarantee proper assembly and functionality of plastic parts.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility from all perspectives.
- Compliance and safety: Ensure designs meet automotive industry standards and safety regulations, including impact resistance and environmental requirements.
