Over the years, Procurement has built a solid foundation to become a strategic catalyst, supporting both the Group's growth and operational excellence. Procurement is now an integrated function, working closely with the GBUs. In 2024, annual spending reached €19 billion, an increase of 18% over the last three years, reflecting the importance of suppliers in the GBUs' roadmap.
In order to ensure an agile, competitive and sustainable supply chain, Procurement has established a strategic roadmap based on three main priorities: Procurement's contribution to the Group's performance, health, safety and ethical requirements with suppliers, and strengthening the resilience and sustainability of the supply chain. These priorities are supported by the acceleration of digital transformation and employee development, with the aim of creating an efficient organization capable of meeting future challenges while establishing standards of excellence.
Missions:
The Category Manager Software & Cloud
is a strategic leadership role, responsible for the end-to-end management of software and cloud procurement at Group level. The position requires a blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, supplier and risk management, and strong leadership to drive innovation, sustainability, and value across the organization.
Strategic Role & Scope
- The Category Manager holds a Group mandate to manage one or more procurement categories, with a primary focus on software and cloud solutions, representing a significant annual spend (over 400M€).
- The role is part of the Global Category Director IT & Digital Team, responsible for designing, executing, and deploying procurement strategies in full alignment with Group priorities and senior stakeholders (C-level, E-level).
- The manager is accountable for economic, operational, and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) performance, driving sustainable digital business and transformation.
Leadership & Team Management
- Direct management of 2 Global Lead Buyers, with the possibility to co-lead projects with IT operational teams.
- Leads, animates, and develops a multidisciplinary, multi-location team/network, collaborating across Procurement, IT, Business, and Support Functions to maximize value and innovation.
Category Strategy & Execution
- Designs and implements category strategies for software and cloud, ensuring alignment with business priorities, digital transformation, and sustainable growth.
- Leverages external market intelligence, monitors trends, and integrates insights into planning and decision-making.
- Develops deep expertise in the software & cloud supply market, including licensing models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), supplier landscape, and value levers.
- Translates business objectives into actionable roadmaps, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and customer-centric results.
Supplier & Risk Management
- Responsible for supplier relationship management with strategic and preferred suppliers (4 strategic, 20 preferred), including selection, animation, and renewal.
- Manages supplier risks, contract negotiations, and major disputes, ensuring business continuity and compliance with regulatory and technological requirements (e.g., GDPR, cybersecurity).
- Drives continuous improvement, innovation, and performance with suppliers.
Performance & Value Delivery
- Selects and monitors relevant metrics (e.g., software utilization, cloud spend optimization, supplier performance) to track value delivery
- Oversees procurement actions, including calls for tenders and negotiations, and ensures compliance with Group standards and best practices.
- Delivers procurement performance targets, identifies cost-reduction opportunities, and contributes to budgeting and savings methodologies.
Profile & Skills
- University degree or equivalent in engineering or management, with 10-15 years of procurement or supply chain experience, including management roles.
- Strong knowledge of the energy and IT sectors is essential.
- Proven experience in managing complex procurement portfolios and teams, with a track record in contract negotiation and performance optimization.
- Key skills include strategic vision, business orientation, results-driven mindset, procurement and supply chain expertise, change and project management, and proficiency in English and French.
- Soft skills emphasized: leadership, stakeholder engagement, communication, adaptability, and the ability to work in a matrix organization.
