Who will you work with?
The Compact Business Unit is a dedicated team within Volvo Construction Equipment, created to capture business opportunities in the growing compact equipment segment.
Our multicultural and international team values change, performance, passion, trust, and customer success.
Working in flow-not in silos-helps us make a difference, together.
You will be part of a passionate and experienced team, reporting to the Head of Project Management.
Location: Belley (dept. 01), France
What is the mission?
As a Senior Project Manager (Chief Project Manager - CPM), you will be responsible for the successful execution of one or more assigned projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards.
Your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading New Product Development (NPD) projects and managing strategic and critical initiatives for the Compact Business Unit.
- Ensuring efficient project execution by fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams located at multiple international sites, and securing stakeholder engagement.
- Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource plans in collaboration with project teams, and securing necessary investment approvals.
- Proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing project risks, ensuring compliance with quality assurance processes and adherence to the Global Development Process (GDP).
- Leading project teams with clear communication and smooth coordination across global teams to achieve expected outcomes.
- Providing regular project updates and actionable recommendations to decision-making bodies.
Who are you?
- You hold a Master's degree (Bac +5) in Marketing, Engineering, or Business.
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the industrial, automotive, transportation, or related sectors.
- You are a proven leader with successful experience managing complex projects and international, cross-functional teams-ideally in construction equipment, automotive, or similar industries.
- You have strong command of project management tools and methodologies; a certification such as PMP is a plus.
- You are recognized for your communication and stakeholder management skills.
- You are open to international travel (10-20% of your time).
- You are fluent in English and have a good level in French, both written and spoken.
- You are organized, adaptable, and skilled at conveying ideas, persuading, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- You enjoy fieldwork and teamwork, and are comfortable speaking in public, sharing ideas, and rallying others around a common goal.
Ideally, you are familiar with the industry and products (Construction equipment), but if not, you must have several years of experience as a Project Manager (covering an entire cycle = a completed and successfull project!)
