Help us build our Security Operations Center

At Alan, we're building the future of healthcare, and security is at the heart of everything we do. As we scale, we're looking for a Security Engineer to join our Security team.

In this role, you'll contribute to building our Security Operations (SOC) work-stream alongside another SecOps teammate, focusing on proactive threat prevention of our cloud architecture. You'll BE at the frontline of our security efforts, working on :

Security Operations organisation
- Use your threat hunting capabilities to build and optimize monitoring strategies addressing critical risks in our cloud environment
- Contribute to scaling our internal SOC by developing and improving processes, policies, and tooling
- Create and maintain security playbooks and technical playbooks to enhance team knowledge and foster autonomy and distributed ownership

Security detection & response
- Maintain our monitoring system, addressing triggered alerts and fighting false positives
- Contribute to security incident response from initial detection through containment and recovery
- Drive continuous improvement through post-incident analysis and lessons learned

Security at Alan
- Participate in key security team activities including ISO 27001 compliance, security awareness programs, and company-wide security support
- Share security best practices and knowledge with teams across the organization
- BE an ambassador for security across Alan through clear communication and impactful metrics

If you have some of the following, you may BE a great fit

We're looking for a Security Engineer with 5+ years in the cybersecurity field and strong threat intelligence capabilities in cloud-native environments.

Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, particularly AWS security best practices
- Experience with threat hunting, IOC identification and threat intelligence analysis
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms and security tools (EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners...)
- Experience in security operations activities (detection and/or response)
- Strong technical investigation and problem-solving skills

Professional & Personal Qualities
- Curiosity to explore security domains beyond your immediate scope and identify potential security gaps
- Ability to create clear documentation and share knowledge effectively across teams
- Autonomous mindset with strong collaborative approach to cross-functional projects
- Business-minded approach with ability to find security trade-offs that balance risk and business needs
- Strong communication skills in English for documentation, stakeholder updates, and cross-team collaboration
