The Head of Projects concentrates on ensuring delivery of project key objectives for both customer projects as well as portfolio projects. The initial focus is on PCM (Professional Coffee Machines) core and the respective locations in Geislingen and Zuchwil. The mission includes the set-up of a professional project management organization as well as improving adherence to development planning for all relevant aspects and KPIs (time, cost, quality) of any project. In addition IT is necessary to align project management practices across locations / legal entities to increase efficiency and leverage synergy potentials.

What you can expect

Develop and implement project management strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
- Establish and enforce aligned processes as well as quality standards for projects
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved financial constraints in close collaboration with Product Management and Controlling
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks

Oversee the entire project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
- Ensure continuous alignment with market and business needs (main counterpart : product management)
- Ensure continuous alignment with functional leads and resource owners
- Serve as first level escalation in case of resource and capacity conflicts

Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers and project teams
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the project management department
- Competence Management and Associate Development (Project Managers)

What you need to succeed with us

Education :University degree, PhD, MBA, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management
- 8+ years practical experience in managing project organisations
- 8+ years professional experience in similar functions and leading high skill employees
- 5+ years' experience in project management (personally managing R&D projects)
- R&D experience in relation to manufacturing with an international background, quality, product management and value engineering
- Preferably experienced in B2B
- Experience managing distributed, international organizations
- Entrepreneur and business thinking
- Analytical thinking, convincing communication
- Dealing with complexity, ambiguity and volatility

Experience and Background

Proven successful records in :
- Project management and execution in complex, technical driven environments
- Building successful project management organisation with set-up of structures and processes
- Successful execution of both customer projects as well as portfolio projects / product development
- Working experience in global, blue chip company

Strong understanding of :
- Project Execution Management
- Distributed organisations with respective process landscapes
- Measures on how to achieve and balance project KPI (Time, Cost, Quality)
- Technical & Growth mind set is plus

Languages :
- Fluent in English. German and/or French or further global language
