missions :
The Genomic Analysis Platform Manager M/F leads the molecular laboratory team that plays a critical role in supporting current and future livestock vaccines, especially future RNA/DNA vaccines within the Biogenovac laboratory.
He/she will BE in charge of field investigations and diagnostic support activities for Western Europe, and in particular France. This team will BE mostly responsible for the link to the field, especially thru the detection and characterization of field pathogens of interest in Western Europe. This testing service is expected to reach the excellence level. He/she will also support to the innovation and development of future vaccines will also BE requested, based on molecular PCR and NGS methods.
Supervision of diagnostic/testing activities in Western Europe :
· Overall supervision of DVV-T (Development- Validation-Verification and Transfer) activities within the laboratory
· Ensuring integration/development of new assays
· Oversee of molecular activities (qPCR and NGS)
· Contribution to essential team functions, including :
o Project planning, setting timelines, and managing budgets.
o Use the LIMS database for cases, data and laboratory reports
o Lead team meetings to ensure alignment on objectives and timelines.
o Resolve intra- and inter-departmental challenges effectively
o Recruit, mentor, and develop junior team members
o Ensure consistent and accurate laboratory practices by managing the team's training materials and SOPs.
Participation in field investigations to assess the prevalence of disease, anticipate health risks, detect new pathogens, etc. :
· Interact with investigation requesters for the preparation of investigations (objectives, sampling strategy, necessary laboratory methods, format of results, etc.)
· Carry out in-depth investigations into animal disease outbreaks
· Development of surveys and investigations protocols as part of the testing strategy on emerging diseases.
Design and implement the strategy for laboratory partnerships in Western Europe
· Together with business and technical national Ceva teams, identify partnership opportunities, establish and implement them with labs, covering methods transfer, joint developments, joint surveys, data analysis/visualization, excellence testing services, transfer of biological material, etc
Professional and Scientific Development :
· Establish and maintain collaborations with external academic and research institutions for new reagents, pathogen isolates, technologies, disease models, and assays.
· Attend professional and scientific meetings to stay updated on advancements in science and technology.
· Present scientific findings at professional meetings to promote company products and research.
· Actively engage with Ceva's international teams on global projects, facilitating information exchange and knowledge sharing, especially within the SSIU global platform.
Team Collaboration :
· Work closely with R&D, Production, Sales and Marketing, and Technical Veterinary Support teams in the field
o Oversee and implement projects related to R&D, and Scientific/Product Support.
o Write and review protocols and reports for R&D and support functions.
o Supervise genomic testing activities for R&D projects.
Additional Responsibilities :
· Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability in a dynamic laboratory environment.
Your
profile :
This is an experienced molecular biologist with experience in diagnostics, basic or advanced knowledge in disease surveillance and epidemiology and a good background in avian, swine, and/or bovine production. In addition to scientific knowledge, strong leadership skills are essential to effectively guide molecular virology in particular and oversee key projects and partnerships.
· Molecular Biology : Proficient in techniques such as next-generation sequencing and other advanced molecular biology methodologies.
· Virology : Basic understanding of viral diseases associated with Swine and Poultry.
Expertise in designing and analyzing laboratory diagnostics associated with virology.
· Project Management : Strong time management, prioritization, and planning abilities, with proven success in managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering on deadlines.
· Technical Writing : Skilled in drafting comprehensive scientific and technical reports, protocols, and research papers with precision and clarity.
· Independent Work & Knowledge Development : Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while continually expanding technical and theoretical expertise.
· Collaborative skills
· Communication Skills : Exceptional written and oral communication abilities, with experience delivering clear and effective presentations.
· Language Skills : fluent English
Education - Ph.D. in science-related field and/or DVM with experience in animal agriculture
Biologiste moléculaire expérimenté avec 7 à 10 ans d'expérience dans le diagnostic, des connaissances de base ou avancées en surveillance des maladies et en épidémiologie et une bonne expérience de la production aviaire, porcine et/ou bovine. En plus des connaissances scientifiques, de solides compétences en leadership sont essentielles pour guider efficacement la virologie moléculaire en particulier et superviser les projets et partenariats clés.
Biologie moléculaire : Maîtrise de techniques telles que le séquençage de nouvelle génération et d'autres méthodologies avancées de biologie moléculaire.
Virologie : Compréhension de base des maladies virales associées aux porcs et aux volailles.
Expertise dans la conception et l'analyse de diagnostics de laboratoire associés à la virologie.
Gestion de projet : Solides capacités de gestion du temps, de priorisation et de planification, avec un succès avéré dans la gestion de plusieurs projets simultanément et le respect des délais.
Rédaction technique : Habile à rédiger des rapports scientifiques et techniques complets, des protocoles et des documents de recherche avec précision et clarté.
Travail indépendant et développement des connaissances : Capacité démontrée à travailler de manière autonome tout en élargissant continuellement l'expertise technique et théorique.
Compétences collaboratives
Compétences en communication : Capacités exceptionnelles de communication écrite et orale, avec une expérience de la présentation de présentations claires et efficaces.
Compétences linguistiques : français courant, bonne maîtrise de l'anglais
Éducation : Doctorat dans un domaine scientifique et/ou diplôme de docteur vétérinaire avec une expérience en agriculture animale
