For one of our client, a commodities trading company based in MONACO we are looking for an OPERATIONS MANAGER
the company is an emerging leader in the trade of base oils and petrochemical products
The Operations Manager will BE responsible for overseeing and managing the maritime transport
operations of oil and gas products.
This role will ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across global shipping routes, while optimizing the company's logistics operations.
The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of maritime logistics, international trade regulations, and have strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, clients, traders, freight forwarders, insurance and ship brokers, and other actors in the international trade of goods.
Key Responsibilities :
Shipping Operations Management :
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the maritime transport of oil and gas products.
- Select optimal shipping routes to ensure safe and timely delivery of goods.
- Oversee the preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and certificates of origin.
Compliance and Risk Management :
- Ensure compliance with international and local maritime transport regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in trade policies and regulations, including INCOTERMS and customs
requirements.
- Manage relationships with insurance brokers to improve coverage and declare necessary information
in a timely manner.
Cost Control and Budgeting :
- Monitor and manage shipping costs to stay within budget.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with shipping companies and logistics providers.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize shipping routes and methods.
Collaboration with External Partners :
- Maintain strong relationships with port authorities, logistics companies, and other external partners.
- Coordinate loading and unloading operations at ports.
- Work closely with ship brokers and carriers to optimize shipping operations.
Problem Solving and Operational Efficiency :
- Address operational issues such as shipping delays, documentation problems, and customer
complaints.
- Analyze shipping data and trends to improve operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices in shipping operations.
Team Leadership :
- Lead and develop a team of up to 5 logistics and shipping specialists.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment.
Client and Stakeholder Management :
- Collaborate directly with clients, suppliers, and other external partners to ensure smooth shipping
operations.
- Maintain strong relationships with traders and management to align shipping operations with business goals.
System and Tools Utilization :
- Utilize ERP Microsoft Dynamics365 for managing shipping operations and data.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting and communication with other departments.

Le profil recherché
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a shipping manager role or similar position.
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related
field.
- In-depth knowledge of maritime logistics and international trade regulations.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics365.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
