Job Description

The Environment Artist at Rodeo FX plays a crucial role in creating immersive and photorealistic environments for films, television, and commercials. The artist will work closely with the CG and Environment Supervisors to produce high-quality environments that meet the studio's standards. This role requires a strong understanding of modeling, texturing, shading, set dressing and lighting, as well as proficiency in a range of 3D software.

The artist must BE able to collaborate effectively with other departments and manage technical and creative challenges while meeting tight deadlines.

Key Accountabilities :

Master Your Craft
- Deliver detailed and realistic environments for a wide range of projects, including natural and man-made environments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in modeling, texturing, shading, set dressing and lighting to create high-quality 3D scenes that meet project requirements.

Creative Quality
- Create visually compelling environments that align with the creative direction and enhance the overall visual storytelling.
- Continuously refine environment assets based on feedback and push creative boundaries to improve the final result.

Technical Quality
- Ensure environments are technically optimized for rendering, using best practices in modeling, lighting, and shading.
- Collaborate with Layout, FX, and lighting teams to ensure the environment functions properly within the production pipeline.

Communications
- Collaborate effectively with the CG Supervisor, Environment Supervisor, and other team members to solve creative and technical challenges.
- Keep leads and production teams informed about progress, potential bottlenecks, and any required adjustments.

Teach, Learn, and Grow
- Share knowledge with junior artists and contribute to team learning sessions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, techniques, and technologies in environment creation and continuously enhance your skillset.
