Senior Architect - Creation Platform

Who are we

Our team's mission is to drive consistent technical strategies & architecture designs to sustain Amadeus application business needs for short, mid and long terms. To achieve IT, we :
- Lead and define the corearchitecture of the Amadeus Application Platform called Creation Platform, with the support of key project experts, ensuring consistency across all platform pillars :
- application engineering including Cloud Native Applications,
- data & AI enablement including Fast and Big Data Platforms,
- ecosystem & integration, covering how we open our platform to customers.
- Federate Amadeus business lines' lead architects to define our application technical strategy, produce Tech Pressure reports, support company decisions, and ensure global consistency via a Transversal Technical Architecture (TTA) hierarchical community model, working closely with company's CTO and engineering top management.
- Provide expertise and guidelines through technical missions for the whole Amadeus Engineering Community via an Architecture as a Service offer.

The team's expertise is based on in-depth technical knowledge, hands on experiments, tech watch activities, the broad network of expertise constituted by the TTA model, and field work thanks to the Architecture as a Service offer.

What will you do

Shape the technical future of Amadeus and embark the whole organization with you.
- You will take the lead & accountability of several Creation Platform strategical studies, starting with the most crucial :
- Global Creation Platform control plane architecture, a wide and complex topic aiming at providing self-serviceability for all platform assets.
- Creation Platform DEVOPS transformation & operational efficiency.
- Creation Platform global FinOps architecture.
- You will BE asked to produce pragmatic studies, proposing solutions inserted within short, mid and long term strategies, strongly aligned with business requirements and having costs as a major decision criterion.
- You will maintain your technical skills by experimenting yourself some technologies or architecture patterns via hands on prototypes, by doing technical watch activities, constantly trying to identify how to improve the way we design our systems.
- You will work closely with development teams to ensure your designs are implemented correctly but also to take benefit of the feedback loop and adjust your designs accordingly.
- You will have the chance to work within a very rich network of experts, leveraging team's expertise but also the Creation Platform architecture community as well as TTA broader community.
- You will present and evangelize your strong convictions to many different audiences, from core experts to business representatives and up to top management.
- You will BE a key actor of the Amadeus CTO operating model, participating actively in the elaboration of documents such as Amadeus Technical Strategy or Amadeus Technical Principles.
- You will BE very visible, as frequently exposed to different forums composed of experts or top management.
- As part of the Architecture as a Service team's activity, you will participate in projects from any Business Lines when required and for the required duration (can BE few days or a part time all along the year). This could BE designing solutions from scratch, solving problems on existing solutions, etc.
- You will occasionally represent Amadeus in external technical forums, evangelizing the IT world with your strong convictions. You will BE asked to also expose your nice findings in both internal & external tech blogs.

What we are looking for
- 7+ years of experience with proven architecture or technical lead role.
- In-depth knowledge of application architecture problematics & patterns, including aspects such as resiliency, scalability, multi-tenancy, operations, etc.
- Good knowledge & experiences on Cloud Service Providers offering with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) layers.
- Knowledge on Cloud Native Applications, state of the art DEVOPS model and platform engineering at large would BE a plus.
- Proven ability to design and present high quality & cost-effective solutions to various audiences including non-technical.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Strong technical leadership - forward thinking, ability to build and formulate a staged technical vision.
- Autonomy, accountability and proactivity.
- Service oriented mindset, ability to help others.
- Curiosity & passion for continuous learning and staying current with the latest technologies. Contributions to a culture of innovation.
