Senior Offshore Pipeline Installation Project Engineer H/F ABYSS ENERGY

CONTEXT
As part of the expansion of international offshore engineering activities, Abyss Energy, engineering consulting & recruitment firm, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer Installation Methods / Senior Offshore Pipeline Installation Project Engineer.
You will join a complex project environment within the offshore energy sector, with a strong focus on subsea pipeline installation engineering. You will contribute to the technical preparation of operations, optimization of installation methods, and operational support through offshore execution phases while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of your role, you will be involved in the following activities:

• Perform feasibility studies and define installation methods for subsea pipeline projects.
• Develop installation procedures, technical analyses, and associated execution documentation.
• Define and optimize S-Lay, J-Lay, and Reel-Lay installation strategies while considering technical, HSE, and operational requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces with engineering disciplines, suppliers, and subcontractors involved in project delivery.
• Contribute to the specification, procurement, manufacturing follow-up, and testing of installation equipment and tools.
• Perform or supervise lifting, rigging, and installation calculations required for offshore operations.
• Support tendering activities by preparing methodologies, man-hour estimates, schedules, and cost inputs.
• Provide technical support to offshore operations and oversee assigned scopes during installation campaigns.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and propose innovative solutions to reduce risks and optimize project costs.
• Coordinate and support technical teams within your area of responsibility when required.

• 5 to 12+ years of experience in offshore project engineering, including exposure to subsea pipeline installation activities.
• Engineering degree in Marine, Offshore, Naval, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Reel-Lay, J-Lay, and/or S-Lay installation methods.
• Experience with installation studies, operational procedures, and engineering analyses related to subsea projects.
• Proven ability to interface with multidisciplinary teams and external project stakeholders.
• Capacity to coordinate engineering activities and provide technical support on complex offshore projects.
• Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to deliver high-quality engineering documentation.
• Strong HSE culture and commitment to offshore operational safety.
• Ability to work effectively within international and multicultural environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
