Les missions du poste
As an FPGA Engineer, you will design and implement high-performance FPGA solutions for our in-house core satellite equipment, with a primary focus on our 2nd generation camera to support our vision-based navigation system. Collaborating closely with electronics, software, and systems engineering teams, you will ensure high levels of efficiency and reliability of mission-critical systems. In this role, you'll also help build automated CI/CD verification pipelines and modular testbenches to validate designs for spaceflight. This is a hands-on engineering role at the core of our flight system's operational capability.
Job Description
- Profile and analyse the performance of embedded flight software to identify optimisation opportunities.
- Design and implement hardware accelerators in FPGA to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Develop and integrate interfaces between FPGA and other system components to enhance data flow and processing capabilities.
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of FPGA solutions with flight software.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of FPGA designs to verify their performance and reliability under mission conditions.
- Develop and maintain robust automated CI/CD verification pipelines and modular testbench frameworks to ensure continuous, high-quality testing and integration of FPGA designs.
- Document design decisions, implementation details, and testing protocols for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in FPGA technology and embedded systems to improve system designs and practices continually.
Le profil recherché
Requirements
- Proficiency in VHDL, with hands-on experience developing on FPGAs.
- Proven experience with System-on-chip (SoC) FPGA architectures.
- Background in designing and implementing DSP algorithms, hardware accelerators and custom IP pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with standard memory and communication peripherals (UART, SPI, CAN, Ethernet, DDR4, NAND Flash).
- Practical experience conducting both pre-silicon simulation/unit testing and on-hardware debugging.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Required degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Level of experience: At least 4 years of experience in FPGA development, focusing on performance optimisation and hardware acceleration.
Optional Experience
- Experience with Microchip FPGAs and tools (Libero, SoftConsole, etc.).
- Experience building automated CI/CD verification pipelines and unit-level simulation frameworks.
- Experience designing for high-reliability, space, or high-radiation environments (preferably GEO), including radiation mitigation techniques.
