We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative Product Development Team in Lausanne, working on cutting-edge satellite communication technologies.
You will become a key contributor within a multidisciplinary R&D environment, developing highly reliable mechanical solutions for airborne and space applications. This is an opportunity to work on next-generation systems where performance, reliability, and engineering excellence are critical.
As part of the Product Development team, you will take ownership of the complete development lifecycle of mechanical assemblies and structures.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, developing, testing, optimizing, and integrating highly reliable and cost-effective mechanical structures and enclosures for phased-array antenna systems.
Defining requirements, architecture, and mechanical concepts from early-stage design through production release.
Selecting materials suitable for extreme operating environments.
Creating and maintaining 3D CAD models and detailed engineering documentation.
Managing prototype build, testing, validation, and industrialization activities.
Conducting structural, thermal, and vibration analyses to ensure compliance with airborne and space qualification requirements.
Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams including Systems, RF, Electronics, Software, Manufacturing, and external partners.
Supporting design verification, manufacturing, integration, and product qualification activities.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer with a strong background in high-reliability product development environments.
Essential Requirements
10+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
Experience in highly regulated or demanding industries such as:
Aerospace
Space
Automotive
Medical Devices
Strong expertise with 3D CAD tools, ideally:
SolidWorks
CATIA
Proven experience with:
Tolerance analysis and GD&T
Structural design
Thermal considerations
Vibration analysis
Lightweight high-reliability assemblies
Experience selecting materials for harsh environments including:
Temperature extremes
Vacuum
Shock
Vibration
Strong knowledge of:
Design verification
Prototype development
FEA / simulation
Manufacturing documentation
Production release processes
Familiarity with:
Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Design for Assembly (DFA)
Design for Testability (DFT)
Quality by Design principles
Comfortable working in laboratory and integration environments.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
Ability to manage multiple technical activities simultaneously.
Team player with excellent communication skills.
Fluent English (written and spoken)
