Site Manager (Logistics Hub)
The site is in a start-up phase. You will act as the first leader on-site and take full ownership of building, structuring, and scaling operations from day one.
You will manage end-to-end logistics activities, including parcel sorting, inbound and outbound flows, and dock operations. You will ensure operational performance, reliability, and service quality while deploying group standards and processes.
You will recruit, structure, and lead large operational teams, both blue- and white-collar. You will define the organization, set clear roles, and drive engagement and performance in a demanding environment.
You will lead the site ramp-up, implement workflows and tools, and adapt the organization as volumes increase. You will monitor KPIs closely (productivity, quality, delivery performance), manage the site budget, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
You will also ensure high standards in health, safety, and compliance, while managing external partners and maintaining a stable and constructive social environment.
The role requires a strong hands-on approach, with a focus on execution, structure, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
- Oversee the full logistics operations (parcel sorting, first mile, last mile, dock
management)
- Ensure smooth flow of operations and on-time performance
- Supervise daily operations of the automated site
- Implement and continuously improve operational processes
2. Team Building & Management
- Recruit and structure operational teams
- Manage large teams (white- and blue-collar workforce)
- Define roles and responsibilities (team leaders, supervisors, etc.)
- Drive team performance and engagement
- Ensure strong on-site leadership in a demanding environment
3 Site Launch & Structuring
- Lead the operational launch of the site
- Deploy workflows, tools, and operating procedures
- Structure the organization from the early stages
- Manage the ramp-up phase and increasing activity levels
4 Performance Management (KPI & P&L)
- Monitor and analyze operational KPIs (productivity, quality, delivery performance)
- Manage the site budget
- Implement corrective actions when needed
- Drive continuous improvement across operations
5 Health, Safety & Compliance
- Deploy group safety standards
- Implement and monitor safety KPIs
- Raise awareness and train teams on HSE topics
- Ensure full regulatory compliance of the site
6 Contractors & Social Management
- Manage external partners (including temporary workforce)
- Maintain a positive and stable social environment
- Handle operational and social challenges proactively
- Ensure constructive employee relations
Le profil recherché
You bring 10 to 15 years of experience in logistics, transport, or parcel delivery, with a solid track record in managing large-scale operations.
You have already led sizeable teams in high-volume and time-sensitive environments. Experience in launching a new site or transforming an existing operation is a strong advantage.
You combine strong operational leadership with a pragmatic, hands-on mindset. You know how to build structure from scratch, set priorities, and deliver results in complex environments.
You are comfortable working with KPIs and performance targets, and you take data-driven decisions to improve operations. You know how to manage change, handle pressure, and adapt quickly to evolving situations.
You have proven experience in recruiting, structuring, and developing teams, and you create a culture of accountability and performance on the ground.
You speak Dutch fluently (mandatory). French and/or English are additional assets.
You are recognized for your leadership, resilience, and ability to drive both operational excellence and team engagement.
