Les missions du poste

Within AXA Health Division, a dynamic entity specialized in international Life and Health solutions and in particular within the Technical Accounting & Reinsurance team, you will have a dual responsibility, including :

  • The support and control of a large portfolio of global employee benefits programs, contributing to the pricing, benefit design, setup and details of EB programs of the largest multinational companies all around the world.
  • Support Finance team on investment related topics

The MAXIS Global Benefits Network has been jointlycreated by AXA and MetLife in 1998.

In2016, AXA and MetLife further strengthened their existing partnership with thelaunch of MAXIS GBN as a joint venture company. MAXIS GBN was created to handleall managerial and administrative services related to :

  • The MAXIS Global Benefits Network comprising 140 localinsurance companies the "MAXIS Members" in 120 markets. All the MAXISMembers, to the extent it is legally feasible, are reinsured by AXA, thecentral reinsurer of the MAXIS Network. MAXIS GBN manages the reinsuranceset-up and its administration.
  • The global employee benefits programs and services formultinational clients and their subsidiaries. The MAXIS GBN products are mainlypooling solution and captive services to pass all risks across the line to theclient's captive insurance company.

AXA and MetLife, as the joint risk carriers, delegate partof the technical activities to MAXIS GBN. You will be part of the teamrepresenting AXA as the reinsurer in this setup, overseeing the application ofthe delegation of technical authority and validating matters that fall outsidethe scope of the delegation.

AXA Health delegates the day-to-day Investmentfunction to AXA France Investment Department. Nevertheless, a number of tasksremain on our side : FX mapping of the balance sheet leading to FX hedging,monitoring of cash and risk appetite indicators, prepare data related to assetsfor S2/IFRS 17.

As a Life and Health Actuary, you will contribute to :

Thetechnical work needed to control the work of MAXIS and ensure the profitablegrowth for the MAXIS portfolio of Captive and Pool global programs. Your mainmission will be to carry out the following tasks :

  • Review,study and validate new business / renewal policy referrals from MAXISUnderwriters, and work on getting the necessary internal AXA Health approvalsif needed (referrals are for large deals or substandard risks exceeding MAXISUW delegation).
  • Participate in the MAXIS Underwriting Committee, andTechnical Committees, which are regular committees composed of AXA, MetLife andMAXIS GBN members to discuss and decide on ongoing diverse technical topics.
  • Assess and control the collateral studies done toeliminate credit counterparty risk related to Captive business and monitor theimplementation of collaterals.
  • Assess and follow MAXIS reviews done for specificfocus Pool clients or Members identified for profitability rehabilitation,follow the action plan and monitor until completion.
  • Validate MAXIS UW renewal strategy and monitor itsimplementation.
  • Monitor and control MAXIS underwriting and technicalfunctions to ensure the profitability of the business for AXA as a reinsurer.
  • Supportin the implementation of contracts, advising AXA and MAXIS Legal colleagueswith business/technical aspects in contractual drafting negotiations.Financialrole description

Financial role description :
  • Collectall data by currency and update the hedging strategy
  • Prepare(2 to 4 times a year) the data related to assets used by IFRS 17/S2 team
  • Monitorrisk appetite elements and act in case of deviation
  • Monitorfinancial performance and budget


Le profil recherché

  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience in Life and HealthUnderwriting/Actuarial roles
  • No specific knowledge on investment related topics isrequired
  • You have demonstrated an exposure to internationalmarkets in your previous role(s), you want to further explore new markets, andyou enjoy working across various territories and cultures.
  • You are autonomous, used to making decisions andtaking calculated actions, even when facing uncertainty.
  • You have the ability to juggle multiple priorities andmeet simultaneous deadlines.

Accordingly,you are required to possess the below skills:

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English. Frenchproficiency is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent command of Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Responsiveness to ongoing and future events and havingthe creativity and courage to propose new ideas.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and astrong team spirit.
  • An appetite for challenges and adaptability withunexpected scenarios.
