About the RoleOgury is looking for a senior engineering manager to lead a distributed team of 6 seasoned cloud infrastructure / DevOps engineers.This opportunity is open to remote applicants based in France.The DevOps team at Ogury is operating a large-scale highly available cloud infrastructure handling 50+ billion API calls daily. It also provides a platform for all development teams to provision, build, deploy and monitor their applications.This is an exciting opportunity for someone with people management experience who wants to stay hand-on on an advanced stack, joining and help grow a senior and autonomous teamOur tech stack: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Kafka, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Prometheus/Thanos, Datadog

What you will be doing

• This role is reporting to the Senior Director of Software Engineering.
• Divide your time across key responsibilities: 50% people management, coaching and alignment, and 50% hands-on technical work.
• Serve as the people manager for a distributed team of 6 seasoned engineers located across France, Europe and Asia, with responsibilities including hiring, team development, and performance management.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to keep improving Ogury's infrastructure and developer platform
• Take part of the team's support and on-call rotations (on-call approx once every 6 weeks, one full week every 6 weeks)
• Contribute to the team's key technical initiatives (e.g. rollout of ArgoCD)
• Continuously monitor and optimise infrastructure cost, enforcing FinOps best practices in the company
• Manage the team's scope of work, ensuring the maintenance of systems, adherence to project timelines, optimal resource allocation, and the delivery of high-quality outputs.
• Cultivate a culture of innovation by identifying and driving technical initiatives in partnership team members
• Advocate for and implement best practices in engineering to enhance efficiency, quality, stability, and scalability of the platform.

About you

• Leadership and team management skills, with experience managing engineering teams which are diverse, with a strong ownership and a positive mindset
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools, with experience executing technical roadmaps
• Experience working on major cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and Kubernetes
• Experience with Infrastructure as code, CI/CD and monitoring tools at scale
• Proficient with English
