Post-doctoral Fellow in Neuroinflammation

Are you a dynamic and innovative researcher passionate about advancing treatments for neurological disorders? We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow to characterize therapeutic candidates in vitro and in vivo. This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in defining the best therapeutic biologic formats for indications of the peripheral and central nervous systems, making meaningful contributions to some of the most challenging therapeutic areas in drug discovery.

By determining the optimal biologic formats for neurological indications, your work will directly address the complexities of drug approval in neurology, helping to develop therapies for patients with significant unmet medical needs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that in vitro and in vivo findings are integrated into Servier's broader drug development strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Develop methods and tools for in vitro screening and functional characterization of therapeutic antibody candidates in various sizes and formats.
• Evaluate the distribution and effect of therapeutic antibodies in healthy and disease-specific preclinical mice models.
• Investigate the in vitro and in vivo Mode of Action of therapeutic candidates and analyze their translational implications.
• Design and execute experiments focusing on neuroinflammation and immunology.
• Perform hands-on functional characterization of neuronal and immune cells using FACS, ELISA, RNA sequencing, and confocal microscopy.
• Work with human clinical samples, including blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
• Analyze and interpret complex data sets to draw meaningful conclusions and inform subsequent drug development steps.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance research projects and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Write and publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
• Present research results at international conferences and seminars.

Profile:

• Ph.D. in Neurology or Immunology.
• Approved training in animal experimentation (Level 1 or equivalent).
• In-depth knowledge of in vivo models within neuroinflammation or immunology (e.g., human and murine immune models).
• Hands-on experience with techniques for functional characterization: flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA, RNA sequencing, immunohistochemistry, and cell culture.
• Competence and experience working with human blood and cerebrospinal fluid.
• Strong communication and language skills; English and French are essential.
• Highly self-driven and independent, with a strong commitment to teamwork and initiative.
• Excellent organizational and writing skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Scientific background in antibody drug discovery and development (Academic or Industry).
• Expertise in electrophysiology and/or behavioral assessment in mouse models.
• Knowledge of blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability, including experience with in vitro transcytosis assays and disease-compromised conditions.
• Proven ability to evaluate therapeutic antibodies within in vivo models.
