Design Manager M H/F Digital Realty

About the Role:

As Design Manager (m/f/d), you will lead the design delivery of complex, mission-critical data centre projects from concept through commissioning. Working within the Design, Engineering & Construction function, you will coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams, ensure compliance with global and regional design standards, and act as the single point of authority for all design decisions. This role suits a technically strong professional who can operate independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality, buildable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage external design consultants and commissioning teams
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design delivery across CSA and MEPH disciplines
- Ensure compliance with Global and Regional Design Engineering Guidelines
- Manage design schedules, budgets, change control, and gating deliverables
- Act as the technical authority throughout design, construction, and commissioning
- Support construction teams with RFIs, submittals, and technical issue resolution
- Interface with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, customers, and authorities
- Contribute to design standardisation, innovation, and continuous improvement

Your Profile

- Experience delivering mission-critical or highly serviced buildings
- Data centre experience preferred (or equivalent complex infrastructure projects)
- Degree in Engineering (CSA/MEPH) or Architecture (or equivalent experience)
- Strong technical coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Confident communicator able to explain and defend technical decisions
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a high-pressure environment
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
