a packagededicated to monitor and ensure the safety of locomation and/or manipulation policies learned in simulation for legged robots or (dexterous) manipulator robots

Mission confiée

Assignments :
With the help of the theoretical and algorithmic tools around the moment hierarchy framework, developed within the team, the recruited person will develop a safety monitor and filter to ensure the performance of learned robotic policies.

Collaboration :
The recruited person will be in connection with Frederike Dümbgen, Justin Carpentier, and collaborators from the POP team in Toulouse. They will also be able to collaborate with the engineers of the team and SED for experimental validation.

Responsibilities :
The person recruited is responsible for the development of the algorithmic foundations, technical implementation, and experimental validation of the tool.

Principales activités

Main activities (5 maximum):

- Propose solutions for safety monitoring of learned policies
- Develop interfaces for the characterization of desired behavior during learning
- Develop interfaces for detection of undesired behavior during deployment
- Design experiments for the validation of the approach

Additional activities (3 maximum) :

- Write reports
- Write documentation
- Present the work to the team

Compétences

Technical skills and level required : Programming (Python and C++), solid foundations in mathematics, in particular optimization.

Languages : Fluency in English, written and oral

Relational skills : Good communication and presentation skills
