Internship - Specialized Cargo Pricer Officer H/F CMA CGM

YOUR ROLE

As part of the dedicated Project Cargo Division, you will oversee and drive the business development of specialized transportation projects for oversized and heavy-lift cargo across multiple lines and trades. In this role, you will develop and implement commercial strategies and pricing policies to foster growth for the Group.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the CMA CGM Group to ensure the seamless handling of Out-of-Gauge (OOG) and Break-Bulk (BB) project cargo throughout the entire process.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?

Reporting to the Project Desk Manager and working closely with line management, you will be responsible for planning and executing trade and pricing strategies for the oversized and heavy-lift cargo segment.

- Maintain daily communication with Lines/Trades at the Head Office in Marseille to relay market insights and strategic recommendations aimed at optimizing trade performance, including revenues, volumes, market share, and volume-weight balance per TEU.
- Conduct technical and operational studies for shipping project cargo, whether OOG or BB, prepare quotations, and provide commercial offers to customers.
- Manage entire projects from initial customer requests to operational execution, ensuring effective coordination among various stakeholders, including sales teams, vessel operations, port terminals, surveyors and customers. You will take ownership of operational monitoring and oversee cargo operations.
- Support and guide the Agents' network, helping them promote the Group's service offerings and capabilities, improve their performance, and achieve their sales targets. Additionally, you will follow up on the development of the project cargo customer portfolio and participate in negotiating commercial offers with strategic clients.
- As a subject matter expert, produce analytical reports, evaluate the impact of market developments on the division, and regularly report performance indicators to your manager, including proposing corrective actions when necessary.
- Contribute to the development of the annual budget.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?

- You are currently enrolled in a Master's degree programme at a business or engineering school in the field of logistics, transport, strategic marketing or management.
- Ideally, you have some initial operational or freight experience related to projects.
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- You are proficient in IT tools for data monitoring and analysis.
- Ideally, you have knowledge of tariff negotiation, maritime operations or loading planning.
- You are comfortable in interpersonal relationships and have no barrier to expression when dealing with all types of interlocutors.
