About the Role
Since 2020, Uber Delivery has grown tremendously, driven by rising merchant demand for digital and delivery solutions. Many merchants lack their own on-demand logistics capabilities, and Uber Direct fills this gap-enabling businesses to deliver orders from their own apps and websites through our vast network of couriers.
Uber Direct is our delivery-as-a-service solution across multiple verticals (Food, Grocery, Retail, E-commerce). We partner directly with merchants and third-party logistics providers to offer reliable, scalable last-mile delivery solutions.
As Grocery Lead, Uber Direct France, you'll be a key member of the leadership team, reporting to the General Manager. You'll own the go-to-market strategy, sales execution, and account management for the Grocery vertical, leading a team of Sales Executives and Account Managers. Your mission: grow Uber Direct's presence across France's grocery ecosystem, from prospecting to long-term partner success.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the go-to-market and sales strategy for the Grocery & Convenience segment.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of sales and account management professionals; set clear goals, track performance, and drive results.
- Manage full sales cycles - from lead qualification and solution design to pricing, negotiation, and deal closure with enterprise partners.
- Own strategic partnerships with key grocery and retail players, driving growth and long-term relationships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Legal, and Finance to create compelling merchant value propositions.
- Ensure operational excellence by overseeing merchant onboarding, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
- Analyze data to refine commercial and operational strategies, ensuring both merchant satisfaction and business profitability.
- Contribute to product evolution by identifying merchant needs and building business cases for new features or delivery capabilities.
- Leverage partners and channels to accelerate penetration and scale.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years' experience in Sales, Account Management, Business Development, or Operations in e-commerce, grocery, retail, logistics, or tech environments.
- Proven leadership experience: managing teams, setting direction, and driving accountability.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with a solid grasp of financial metrics and deal economics.
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decisions and measure impact.
- Familiarity with the logistics, grocery, or retail tech ecosystem and related delivery models.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable influencing cross-functionally.
- Entrepreneurial and hands-on, able to balance strategy with execution in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Fluent in French and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing complex enterprise sales cycles, including RFQs, pricing, and multi-party negotiations.
- Background in logistics, 3PLs, or last-mile delivery industries.
- Track record of launching new verticals, business lines, or products in a high-growth environment.
