Les missions du poste
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Trainer with a strong background in operations management within the oil and gas industries. The HSE Trainer will play a vital role in developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to enhance safety practices, regulatory compliance, and environmental awareness among employees. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of HSE principles, a proven track record in operations management, and excellent training facilitation and communication skills.
Contract type: Freelance / Part-time (Available for a week per month)
(Possibility of transitioning to full-time, subject to discussion)
Responsibilities:
Deliver HSE training programs:
- Update training materials, modules, and manuals that align with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Deliver effective training sessions, workshops, and simulations to employees at various levels, including field operators, technicians, supervisors, and managers.
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and develop targeted training plans accordingly.
Ensure regulatory compliance:
- Stay updated with industry-specific regulations, standards, and guidelines related to health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Implement training programs that address compliance requirements, including hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency response, and incident reporting.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to evaluate compliance levels and identify areas for improvement.
Promote a safety culture:
- Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging employees at all levels through effective communication, training, and awareness campaigns.
- Encourage the reporting of near-miss incidents, potential hazards, and unsafe practices.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety initiatives, policies, and procedures to continuously improve safety performance.
Provide operational expertise:
- Utilize your operations management background to understand the unique operational challenges and risks associated with oil and gas activities.
- Analyze operational processes and workflows to identify potential HSE hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Offer technical expertise and guidance to employees regarding safe work practices, equipment handling, and risk reduction.
Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness:
- Conduct post-training assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
- Analyze training data, feedback, and performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and develop action plans accordingly.
- Continuously enhance training methodologies and materials to ensure relevancy and engagement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in operations management within the oil and gas industries, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE principles, regulations, and industry-specific standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, API).
- Proven experience in developing and delivering HSE training programs to a diverse audience.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire trainees.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and mitigating HSE risks.
- Certification such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) is highly desirable.
- Experience in advanced investigation training is highly desirable.
- Experience on management and delivering trainings on behavioural safety program is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel to different work locations in the Middle East as required.
- Ability to have a flexible working schedule.
- Arabic and English speaker, French is a plus.
