Who are you?
- PhD or Master's in Life Sciences with mandatory Mass Spectrometry experience or equivalent through relevant experience.
- Hands-on LC-MS experience is essential; experience with large molecule LC-MS data interpretation (intact/peptide level) is a plus.
- Strong foundation in chromatography and mass spectrometry, with proven LC-MS troubleshooting skills.
- 3+ years in method development, validation, and investigative testing in an analytical or academic setting.
- Solid understanding of GMP and biologics manufacturing/testing with a quality-focused mindset.
- Adaptable, fast learner, and open to supporting lab work, investigations, and MSAT projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and familiar with data trending and statistics.
- Strong communicator, confident in cross-functional collaboration and public speaking.
- Team player with a proactive and collaborative attitude.
- Languages: English, fluent in writing and speaking but within a mostly Dutch speaking environment/team
What will you do?
The MSAT Scientist is part of the Analytical Science & Technology team at Sanofi Geel, supporting lifecycle management of mammalian cell culture-based drug substance processes. The role focuses on tech transfer and optimization of mass spectrometry methods across a diverse global product portfolio. You'll contribute to launching 20+ biologics in the next 3-5 years, including mAbs, ADCs, and nanobodies. The team drives innovation through digital labs, advanced analytics, and next-gen manufacturing.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, execute, and transfer LC-MS methods with end-to-end ownership-from development to reporting and documentation.
- Serve as subject matter expert in HPLC and mass spectrometry.
- Integrate LC-MS data with product and process knowledge.
- Identify and implement method improvements to enhance robustness, introduce new technologies, and reduce release timelines.
- Support product and process investigations, including scientific protocol/report writing and impact assessments for deviations.
- Contribute to analytical activities for characterization, transfer, and process improvements across late-stage, next-gen, and commercial products.
- Experience with peptide mapping and glycan analysis is a plus.
