Les missions du poste

About Quandela:
Quandela is a European scale-up building photonic quantum computers that are modular, scalable, and energy-efficient. With more than 140 employees, Quandela develops hardware solutions and provides access to quantum computing through its cloud platform. We collaborate with leading industrial players and research institutes to turn quantum technologies into real-world applications.

About your team:
You will join the QPU Assembly & Production team, led by Marie B. (Team Lead). This team is at the core of building Quandela's quantum processing units (QPUs) and associated devices, transforming R&D prototypes into reliable, production-ready systems.

Our engineers design sophisticated optical and electronic systems, but many electrical tasks - from cabling to board preparation, testing, and documentation - require dedicated support to move prototypes into production.

You will be part of the electronics workshop, collaborating with several experienced electronic engineers. While your main responsibility will be within Assembly & Production, you may also contribute to projects across the wider QPU Integration group when needed.

This collaborative setup - centered on production but connected to other teams - is essential for turning one-off assemblies into scalable hardware, from the first 12-qubit machines to the next generation of 24+ qubit QPUs.

This new role is therefore key to strengthening our production capacity and ensuring ensuring consistent, high-quality builds of our electronic systems

Salary range: €29-37k, depending on background and autonomy.

- €29-32k: junior profile (2 years' experience), contributing mainly to production support and workshopoperations, while building autonomy.
- €34-37k: more experienced profile (3-5 years' experience), already autonomous on tasks such as PCB preparation, test validation, and documentation.

On top of base salary: annual profit-sharing, company savings plan, 100% health coverage (Alan), 50% transport reimbursement or mobility bonus, Swile meal vouchers, and access to Gymlib.

What will you do:
You will play a key role within the QPU Assembly & Production team, starting with production support and workshop operations. With experience, you'll progressively take on more responsibility for the preparation, validation, and documentation of electronic systems that control our QPUs.

Key activities include:

Wiring & Assembly

- Cable and assemble chassis, racks, and experimental setups.
- Rework and repair electronic boards (soldering, desoldering, modifications).
- Prepare complete card and module assemblies for production delivery.

PCB Design & Documentation

- Maintain and update the Altium component library.
- Design and draft simple PCBs in Altium Designer, in collaboration with engineers.
- Document design changes to ensure traceability and reproducibility.

Testing & Debugging

- Run electrical measurements and first-level debug on electronic boards.
- Validate boards and setups against reliability requirements before production
- Set up and validate test benches for production and integration.

Lab Operations & Logistics

- Manage orders and component flow (ERP tools, suppliers).
- Keep the electronics workshop organized, maintained, and ready for daily work.
- Carry out small mechanical tasks (3D printing, drilling, machining).

This scope will evolve over time - from production support to validation and documentation, and toward greater ownership of electronic systems across integration projects

How you'll grow?
We see this role as a true growth path:

- First months: Focus on production support and daily workshop operations
- Next stage: Take ownership of recurring tasks like PCB preparation, test validation, and documentation.
- Further growth: Gain autonomy in overseeing the production of electronic control systems for QPUs, ensuring their quality, traceability, and reliability across integration projects.

At Quandela, autonomy and curiosity are valued. You'll be trusted to own your work - and supported by peers and leads at every step.

What we're looking for
We would love to hear from you if you are:

- Trained in electronics (technician or equivalent).
- Hands-on with cabling, soldering, and workshop equipment.
- Experienced in an electronics workshop, prototyping, or production environment - and motivated by the hybrid hybrid production + integration setting where you can grow further.
- Curious, proactive, clear in your documentation and communication (able to share progress or blockers).

Examples of backgrounds we value

- BTS/DUT/Licence pro in electronics, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in an electronics workshop, prototyping, or production environment (R&D/startup experience is a plus).

Mindset is as important as skills: we value people who are problem-solvers, team players, and who enjoy tackling technical challenges. A profile that combines these three qualities is someone who can face a technical challenge, involve others to build the best solution, and turn it into a reliable result.

Quandela is a European start up that provides photonic quantum computers that are modular, scalable, energy-efficient and accessible both on the cloud and on premise.

Our team of 85 employees, specialises in the development of both software and hardware solutions for a variety of quantum applications.
