Join a global leader in maritime classification and certification
Your career is about more than building a CV - it's a chance to LeaveYourMark.
Joining Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore means becoming part of a key player in maritime classification and certification. With decades of expertise, we support innovation and transition in the sector by ensuring the safety, performance, and sustainability of ships, floating offshore infrastructures, and maritime equipment.
Our mission? To contribute to a safer and more environmentally friendly maritime world by providing our technical expertise and commitment to our clients and partners.
Put your expertise to work in a sector undergoing major transformation and actively contribute to a safer and more sustainable maritime future.
We are looking for an Offshore Structural Engineer to join our headquarters located in La Défense (92), France.
Be part of a dynamic team: Within the Design Review Department of the Technical Directorate, you will join the Hull Section, working alongside engineers specialized in the structural design review of non-cargo ships (such as passenger vessels and naval ships) as well as onboard equipment (e.g., wind-assisted propulsion systems).
You will carry out structural verification calculations using our internal software tools (VeriSTAR-Hull, MARS, STEEL...) as well as external solutions (Femap).
Your main missions:
- Analyze and validate the structural design of vessels and associated equipment in accordance with Bureau Veritas rules (or any other applicable regulations) across different contexts: newbuildings, conversions/modifications, or validation of innovative technologies.
- Technical support: Provide assistance to teams managing vessels in service, particularly regarding damage analysis on ships classed by Bureau Veritas.
- Support to our international network: Deliver guidance and training to our plan approval offices worldwide.
- Contribution to rules and tools: Take part in the development and validation of Bureau Veritas rules and software tools.
- Technical mentoring: Depending on your background and experience, contribute to the technical supervision of the team.
Your strengths for success:
- Education & experience: Degree in Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering, with solid knowledge of strength of materials and finite element analysis. A proven track record in shipbuilding or steel construction is a plus.
- Language skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and our international network.
- Personal qualities: Rigorous, team-oriented, autonomous, with strong analytical and synthesis skills. You know how to build trust with your stakeholders.
- Additional skills: Proficiency with IT tools, strong writing and communication abilities.
Why choose Bureau Veritas?
By joining our teams, you will participate in varied, enriching, and stimulating international projects. We support our teams throughout their careers with technical training and continuous professional development to keep them at the forefront of emerging technologies.
Convinced that diversity is a strength, we are committed to providing an inclusive and equitable work environment where everyone can contribute to the company's success. We promote gender equality and support professional integration, access, and retention of people with disabilities.
