The Role:

We are looking for our next Plant Maintenance Specialist within our Maintenance Team. The Plant Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for routine and non-routine maintenance activities, preventive and predictive maintenance on the sites' manufacturing and process equipment. Daily tasks include performing maintenance in the areas of rotating equipment, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

This position is located Newark, Delaware.

Compensation:

The current salary for this role is $42.50 until fully qualified, and then increased $47.22. This a union position and is a non-exempt hourly role.

What You'll Do:

· Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

· Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective paert

· Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections

· Adjust functional parts of devices and control instrument

· Repair or replace defective parts

· Ability to read blueprints

· Lubricate and cleans parts

· Start devices to test their performance

· Bends piping and tubing

· Repairs and replaces parts on valves, traps, pressure regulators, etc

· Troubleshoot and repair all mechanical equipment

What You'll Need:

Education:

· A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required;

· A 2-year technical/vocational degree in a related field is strongly preferred

Experience:

· A minimum of four (4) years relevant professional work (general mechanics, pipefitter, chemical manufacturing, refinery, etc.

Work Environment

· This role spends nearly 100% of the time in the plant environment. (manufacturing only)

Physical Demands

· Must be able to read, write, and comprehend documents in English.

· A valid U.S. driver's license is required.

· Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include; wearing safety equipment, such as earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, hardhats, hairnets, and steel-toed shoes are required.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; work in hot, cold and loud environments. Employee must be able to wear a respirator. (manufacturing only)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

· This is a full-time position. Overtime and on-call support may be required. Schedule may change based on facility demands and requirements.
