CONTEXT :
We are looking for a Structural Engineer to carry out services as described in this specification.
PROFILE :
The profile requires the following qualifications
Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PE license, etc.) are a plus.
MISSION :
The service will BE performed independently, under the responsibility of the project manager and in collaboration with other disciplines. The services to BE carried out are outlined below (non-exhaustive list) :
Structural Design & Analysis : Design and analyze structural components for offshore/onshore facilities (platforms, pipelines, refineries) using advanced software (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Tekla) while ensuring compliance with industry standards (API, ASCE, AISC, Eurocodes).
Materials Selection : Choose appropriate materials considering strength, durability, and environmental resistance (corrosion, temperature), working with procurement teams to specify materials.
Project Coordination : Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil) and supervise on-site structural work to ensure adherence to designs and quality.
Risk Assessment : Conduct structural safety and environmental impact assessments, developing strategies to mitigate potential risks.
Quality Control : Ensure designs comply with safety and regulatory standards (ISO, SOLAS, OSHA) and review documentation for compliance.
Site Inspections : Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure adherence to plans, and report deviations with corrective actions.
Collaboration : Work closely with clients, project managers, contractors, and other teams to ensure smooth project execution and provide technical support to junior engineers.
SKILLS :
5 years of experience in offshore structures and a mechanical background.
Application of relevant structural standards on previous projects : DNV-RP-C208, DNV-RP-C203, DNV-OS-C101 & 201, DNV-ST-0437 / 0126 / 0119.
Experience in fabrication using ANSYS and SACS on previous projects...
Knowledge of Abaqus is a plus.
Proficient in hand calculations and autonomous in design and calculation practice.
Experience reviewing drawings and working in cooperation with draftsmen on previous projects.
English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
Proficient in ANSYS / SACS.
