About the Client
Our client is a newly established renewable energy developer, backed by two major international groups with decades of experience across Africa and Asia. As a joint venture created in 2024, the company combines deep operational knowledge of the African market with world-class technical expertise in renewable energy.
The company develops Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects focused on clean energy across Africa. With a lean and agile team based in Paris, IT aims to drive green economic growth and deliver tangible solutions to climate and energy challenges on the continent.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on finance professional to support - and progressively take the lead on - the financial structuring of renewable energy and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the development team, lenders, and investors throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Modelling & Analysis
- Build, maintain, and update complex Excel-based project finance models
- Run sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to guide investment decisions
- Conduct IRR/NPV analyses, debt sizing, and monitor financial covenants
- Support equity valuation and financial structuring aligned with term sheets
Project Development Support
- Work closely with the development team to evaluate bankability of projects
- Track project economics (CAPEX/OPEX, tariffs, financing assumptions)
- Contribute to internal approval processes (IC memos, board presentations)
Due Diligence & Documentation
- Coordinate with advisors on financial due diligence
- Review and summarize key finance documents (term sheets, SHA, loan agreements)
- Prepare data room materials and investor/lender presentations
Stakeholder Engagement
- Assist in managing relationships with lenders, DFIs, and equity partners
- Participate in meetings and calls with banks and external advisors
- Support the execution of financial close and manage key deliverables
Internal Reporting & Budgeting
- Contribute to internal project reporting and budget tracking
- Create clear, concise financial summaries and dashboards for management
Profile & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in project finance, ideally in energy or infrastructure
- Background in :
- Financial advisory firms (e.g., boutique or Big 4 advisory teams)
- Renewable energy developers or IPPs with strong modelling exposure
Required Skills
- Advanced Excel skills; independent modelling with multi-scenario capabilities
- Strong knowledge of project finance fundamentals (IRR, DSCR, sensitivities)
- Proficiency in PowerPoint for investor-ready presentations
- Excellent written and spoken English; French or Japanese is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable in multicultural environments
- Proactive, analytical, and eager to work across finance and development
