As part of the local plant Operations Management Team and the Global Technical Team, the incumbent provides technical, change management, and leadership expertise to management, engineers and production operators to achieve site objectives. Using your expertise you lead and develop the sites technical strategy, talent, and Industry 4.0 for Engineering teams in partnership with the Plant Leadership Team.

You ensure clear and efficient communications and support with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, tool room, facilities, finance, customer service, capture, and cross functional agile teams daily. In close collaboration with our site leaders, you articulate our strategy locally and provide consulting and technical assistance to other sites as needed.

Using your technical expertise and leadership skills you lead and develop other engineers, making sure that our skill matrix is complete. Your experience, maturity and composure creates a constructive environment for your technical peers so that they can develop their own technical leadership and grow our business expertise beyond its current boundaries. As part of the local plant leadership team, you ensure clear and efficient communication with drafting, processing, quality customer service and capture teams. In close collaboration with our competency and technical platform leaders, you articulate our global strategy locally and provide consulting and technical assistance to other sites.

You provide engineering leadership, expertise and project management for metal seal products, business systems, and manufacturing processes. Plan, organize, manage, motivate and set expectations for Engineering activities within the plant. Develop and implement products, associated tooling, equipment, materials, processes, and systems into production to increase sales, improve quality, lower costs, or increase capacity. Evaluates progress of projects and initiatives to determine necessity to revise plans, reassign or modify techniques in order to achieve the objectives of the project.

The Engineering Manager assists cross functionally in developing solutions to technical problems. Utilizes best practice engineering methods, provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives, and build and implement Industry 4.0 roadmap.

You manage, influence, coordinate and participate in Continuous Improvement and WCM activities. Acting as a change agent and foster a Continuous Improvement Culture. You train and coach the plant team in various topics in addition to assessing, developing and coaching your team directly and indirectly to ensure robust bench strength in assigned teams breadth, depth, capability and capacity.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Bachelor's Degree - Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering - is required
Master's Degree is preferred
10+ years background and experience in the theory and practice of the areas of expertise. Leading implementation of systems thinking and technical teams in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated positive communication and business acumen. Demonstrated results solving organizational challenges. Technical problem solving.
3+ years management experience. Leading technical teams and cross functional influencing.
Knowledge of specification testing.
Ability to use CAD such as SolidWorks is required.
WCM / Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement - working knowledge of and at least 6 years' experience is preferred
Working knowledge and implementation of Industry 4.0 ecosystem ie sensing/ data, MES/ dashboards, IOT/ Machine Learning/ RPA/ AR, Artificial Intelligence/ Digital Twin is highly preferred

Certain locations require pay information BE provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $102,000 to $158,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,200 to $178500. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
