Position location : 1 rue de Senlis, Moussy-le-Vieux, Seine-et-Marne, 77230, FRA
Your main missions :
As a Senior Commodity Analyst and the lead of the Grains Research vertical you will drive the analysis for the grains world markets (focusing on Corn and Wheat) and overseeing the Industrial demand analysis done in your team.
You will work daily with traders to monitor market developments in terms of weather and the impact on production, surface monitoring, consumption, tradeflows and price evolution.
The scope of analysis will focus on major wheat and corn producing and importing countries, as well as the main EU countries and regions of France.
You will BE in charge of the maintaining and developing our models for SnD, Tradeflows and price parities.
Those will BE the main elements you will use to form insights and to build a clear communication to members of Tereos Group.
Your day-to-day activities :
- Create and maintain an in-house view for Grains Fundamentals
- Daily exchange with traders communicating market insights that could impact Tereos business
- Structure weekly communications with the relevant facts affecting the grains SnD, raising and quantifying risk flags that could impact the grains markets
- Present market overviews (SnD, tradeflows and prices) showing the current situation and perspectives in a pragmatic and objective way
- Collaborate and support the wider research team on correlated markets, processes, models, etc.
- Leverage Tereos physical presence in various regions to obtain information and integrate IT into your analysis
- Provide ideas for new data, technology and innovation to strengthen analysis within the Market Research team
- Act as the main point of contact for grains research topics across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (clients, service providers and peers)
Your profile :
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics or Agronomy
- Experience in commodity research and/or trading : 5 years minimum
- Fluent English compulsory and working level proficiency in French
- Top Excel and Power Tools of Microsoft (Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, etc). Python is a plus
- Understanding of economics and experience in commodity supply and demand fundamentals
- Good understanding of commodities trading business
- Proven experience in fundamental analysis Supply and Demand in grains sector
- Ability to structure data to extract relevant information for analytical purposes
- Problems solving skills, strong autonomy and creativity to address daily analytics issues
- Adopt a constructive challenge culture aiming to improve understanding of grains markets across a wide range of hierarchy within Tereos
- Active cooperation within the Market Research Team and external stake holders
